Benefits and Efficacy of Green Betel Leaves for Health

Benefits of Betel Leaves for Health
Our ancestors often made betel leaf as an ingredient for ‘nginang’ (chewing). The ingredients consist of betel leaves, betel lime, areca nut, gambier (Lat. Uncaria gambir), and cardamom. In addition, betel leaf can also be used as traditional medicine to overcome various diseases. Here are some of the benefits of betel leaf for health and treatment.
1. Treating vaginal discharge
Boil 7-10 betel leaves in 2.5 liters of water until boiling. Use the betel leaf decoction water while still warm to wash the pubic area. Do it repeatedly.
2. Treat allergic itching and pimples
Provide 6 pieces of betel leaf, 1 piece of yellow ginger and 1.5 tablespoons of eucalyptus oil. All of these ingredients are pounded together until smooth. Then the mixture is applied / rubbed on the body parts that itch due to allergies or pimples.
3. Treat diarrhea
Provide 4-6 betel leaves, 6 pepper seeds and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. All of these ingredients are pounded together until smooth. Rub the mixture in the abdomen and let it dry.
4. Treating bleeding gums
If you experience bleeding in the gums, don’t worry, just treat it with betel leaves. The trick, take 4 pieces of betel leaf and then boil it with two cups of water to boil. After cold, the cooking water is used for gargling. Do it repeatedly until healed.
5. Treat nosebleeds
Nosebleeds are blood from the nose. You can treat it using betel leaves. Take one betel leaf then press it to make it wither. Roll and fit into the nose to clog the bleeding.

If you have a toothache due to cavities, immediately take one betel leaf and boil it with two cups of water to boil. The boiled water of betel leaves is used for gargling. Repeat until healed.
7. Treat coughs
Provide 4 betel leaves, 3 leaves of upas and honey to taste. Betel leaves are sliced, then boiled with leaves of Bidara Upas (Merremia mammosa) in 2 cups of water to boiling. After cold, add honey to taste, then the mixture is made to rinse. Try to reach the esophagus.
8. Reducing milk production
Excessive milk production is certainly not good and redundant. You can overcome this by using betel leaves. It’s easy, take 4 betel leaves and spread with coconut oil. After it is grilled over the fire, do not burn it. In a state of warmth, the betel leaves are placed around the breast.
9. Heart disease
Provide 3 pieces of betel leaf, 7 pairs of steamed seeds, 3 cloves of shallots, and 1 tablespoon of white cumin. All ingredients are ground until smooth, plus 5 spoons of hot water, left for a few minutes, then squeezed and filtered. The concoction is taken 2 times a day and carried out regularly.
10. Syphilis
Prepare 25-30 pieces of betel leaf with the stem, 1/4 kg of palm sugar and salt to taste. All of these ingredients are boiled together with 2 liters of water until boiling, then filtered. The concoction is taken 3 times 1 day continuously.
11. Bronchitis
Provide 7 pieces of betel leaf and 1 piece of rock sugar. Betel leaves are chopped, then boiled with rock sugar with 2 cups water to boil until there is only 1 glass, and filtered. The concoction is taken 3 times 3 tablespoons a day.
